PRESIDENT'S LETTER
President's News
2018 has been packed with action so far. JCTS hosted nice crowds for the Fish Fry Skeet Open and the Jacksonville International Skeet Open in the past two weeks. In addition to recreational sports, the calendar is full of activities to help you exercise your clay target skills. Be sure to check the calendar and get signed up for your favorite events.
JCTS has many volunteers and benefactors whose contributions make these events successful. We would like to thank our new Skeet Chairman, Russ Naples, for his management of a fantastic Fish Fry Skeet Open. Russ follows in the footsteps of legendary Skeet Chairman Bud Steil. Congratulations also to JCTS's talented International Skeet Chairman, Ed Franco, for another successful International Skeet Open. More news on these events below.
We would like to acknowledge the steadfast commitment of a member of our local clay target community - Victor Jubran, owner of Wild West Gun & Gold. Year after year WWGG supports a multitude of local non-profit organizations through both participation and donations to their fundraising events. Victor’s business also provides a valuable retail service to the North Florida sporting community and offers special pricing to JCTS members. Please stop in to see Victor sometime, and thank him for his support of North Florida sporting clays events!
As you know, it is the mission of JCTS to provide a safe and welcoming environment for clay target sports. JCTS has several levels of safety training available before an individual operates a firearm, including NSSA/NSCA Safety Training video, Range Safety Officers, and NSSA Certified Instructors. Everyone is encouraged to seek the services of the Range Safety Officers and/or Instructors for their safety training needs. Furthermore, if you witness improper or unsafe firearm handling, please report it immediately to club management or a Range Safety Officer.
We look forward to seeing you at the club!
