President's News

As our hunting seasons come to an end, we have beautiful shooting weather and many shooting opportunities upon us. The club has a steady schedule of social, competitive, and non-profit events that add a nice dimension to our shooting activities. Everyone is welcome to participate in most of these events, although a few of them have limited enrollment, i.e. collegiate events, etc.  Mark your calendar, and make reservations, so you won't miss your favorite events. Many events are listed below, and your can find them on our calendar. 

The Florida Skeet Association Spring Swing is officially underway!  This is an annual series of skeet tournaments that take place at skeet clubs all over Florida during February and March. We welcome all of the skeet fans and visitors who are here to enjoy these tournaments, and we look forward to seeing you! See more details in Skeet News below.

First quarter 2018 is a great time to introduce interested friends to clay target sports. JCTS is an easy place to begin a clay target sports hobby due to our diverse activities and many amenities, including: safety training, certified instructors, Range Safety Officers, on-site gunsmithing services, Pro Shop, Wednesday night dinners, and event rentals. Our staff and volunteers are happy to give tours or answer questions for interested individuals.

Capital improvement projects are proceeding on schedule. Following several harsh hurricane seasons, the skeet houses received new roofs and paint, while the permitting and production of signage and a bathroom for the South Sporting Clays Course are in progress. Additionally, a new equipment "house" will arrive soon.

VOLUNTEER CALL:  JCTS is always in need of volunteers of all kinds. If you have some time and talents that you would like to share with JCTS, please contact me so I can direct you to the right committee.

Your continued enthusiasm and passion for shotgun sports makes JCTS an exciting hub of clay target sports in Northeast Florida. We are grateful to our members, guests, staff, officers, board, vendors, and supporters!
