Spotlight on the Jacksonville University Shooting Team: Excellence in Collegiate Shooting Sports

The Jacksonville University (JU) Shooting Team has become a proud part of Jacksonville Clay Target Sports (JCTS), showcasing precision, skill, and sportsmanship. Through a supportive partnership, JCTS provides JU’s competitive shooting team with access to top-quality facilities. This collaboration has allowed the team to train and compete at a high level, earning national recognition for its dedication to shooting sports and commitment to excellence.

The JU Shooting team was founded in 2009 and became an official varsity sport at Jacksonville University in 2011. Since then, the team has achieved incredible milestones, including winning 35 national championship event titles. Competing as a Division I (D1) program, the team continues to excel in collegiate events across the nation. With regular training sessions at JCTS, these student-athletes hone their skills in skeet, trap, and sporting clays.

Jacksonville Clay Target Sports is proud to serve as the home range for the JU Shooting Team. While JCTS provides top-quality facilities and a welcoming environment for practice, the team’s coaching is led entirely by their own expert staff, including head coach and current Executive Director Dave Dobson, whose leadership has been instrumental in shaping the team’s success. This partnership has fostered a strong community where JU team members can train, grow, and connect with others who share their passion. By providing resources, training opportunities, and a supportive atmosphere, JCTS plays a pivotal role in helping JU athletes compete confidently and achieve new heights.

The JU Shooting Team’s achievements highlight the incredible synergy between Jacksonville Clay Target Sports and JU’s talented athletes. We encourage our community to follow the team’s progress by visiting jushootingteam.com and supporting them at their upcoming competitions. Together, we can support the growth of collegiate shooting sports and the young athletes who represent our shared commitment to skill, sportsmanship, and excellence.
